All photos with closeups of students must have waivers signed by students, parents and a witness Dates and signatures are a must or your photos will be disqualified.

- All students to work on corrections to articles. Brittany and Hannah and Mackenzie to help students proof articles for magazine. If finished you should work on cobbing. Use clip art placed in the folder called Clip Art. Remember if you use clip art, you can use the Detect Edges command in InDesign. Need 7th graders to go through photos and place great photos into 7th grade folder for end of year slide show. Someone needs to help with 6th grade photos.

Thursday, March 10 - Test to see if you can create placeholder text in InDesign, insert clipart, use text wrap and detect edges so that the text will wrap around the clip art.
Create your DO NOT ENTER SIGN. Template is in the read only folder - DOOR HANGERS.
Friday, March 11 -Complete DO NOT ENTER DOOR HANGERS. We will print in black and white to laser printer or you can email your door holder sign home so you can print it in color.

This week you will finalize your feature article. All final drafts are Due FRIDAY. You will also be responsible for creating a sales tag sized 3 X 3 using Photoshop. I will show you a sample.

Tuesday, March 22 - Look through magazines and locate images of graphics that are easy to duplicate. You will choose one simple graphic. It can be as simple as typography and you will recreate it using Photoshop.
Wednesday, March 23 - Create a graphic you have found for your vision board or a sample that I give you.
Thursday , March 24 - Work on your graphic. Due today to in box so I can print in color. Save to In Box Graphic Design.
Friday, March 25 - Test over  avoiding redundancy. Some of you can begin your graphic design (marketing). Size it as a 2 X 2 inch canvas using PS.

Watch the PowerPoint on Using Quotes.You will have a test over this information on Friday. You should know how to write quotes by now.
You will each receive a prototype to follow to create your page layout for The Valley View. Our publish date is April 15. Workday after school will be decided today. We must have editors present for after school workday. We will be making sure all copy is edited twice and photos and captions are in place. Table of Contents (Brittany is in charge of TOC) must be completed and all business ads need to be placed (Gabi E. is in charge of placing advertising.) Hannah is in charge of making sure all students get articles finished and have suitable, readable and INTERESTING CONTENT. Interesting Content = GOOD REPORTING + OUTSTANDING INTERVIEWS.
Some of you will get finished with formatting your feature article and can then begin on the PHOTO DOCUMENTARY POSTER.
Creating a poster with your best photos. This week you will use photos from the Austin Photo Documentary field trip to create an inviting poster about Keeping Austin Weird. You MUST select photos with a common element. Here is the INFO HELP! sheet to organize and create your photo documentary poster. These will be printed in color.
Tuesday, March 29 - Decide which photos to use for your Austin Photo Documentary Poster.
Wednesday, March 30 - Edit any photos and make sure your theme or composition type is used throughout the poster. If you use a wash away effect on one photo - use it on all the photos. If you are documenting signage in Austin, don’t toss in a photo of your boyfriend/girlfriend.
Thursday, March 31 - Create your posters online. I will log you in so the site so you can create these. They will be printed out and you can take them home after we show them at the Fine Arts Night in May.
